Étude du potentiel de rafraîchissement d'un système évaporatif à désorption avec régénération solaire

Abstract : The development of air-conditioning, which is in particular related to increased living standards, leads to an increase in power consumption with a negative impact on environment. Thus, it is urgent to find alternatives to traditional air-conditioning equipment. If the optimization of architecture design allows a clear improvement of comfort conditions, it can be incompatible with architects needs or it reaches its limits during heat waves. In this case, the concept of evaporative cooling coupled with solar energy constitutes a reliable and tested alternative, which contributes to the safeguarding of the environment.
In our work, we study the cooling potential of a solar desiccant evaporative system. This system called "desiccant cooling" reduces electrical consumption and uses solar energy which is a clean and free energy.
Firstly we present several technologies related to this system and we describe its components.
Then we describe the development of a simulation model for the whole system. This model was implemented in the modular environment SimSPARK, which is adapted to highly non-linear equations. Simulations were used to study the interaction between the system, building and climate. Seasonal simulations were carried for several French cities and they showed the importance of night ventilation strategy in reducing system primary energy requirements. It is shown that the system is suited to regions where humidity ratio does not exceed 16g/kg of dry air.
Finally we compare simulation results to the experimentation. The latter was carried out in Chambéry at the “maison des energies” which is equipped with the first system of this kind in France.
