La Construction de l'espace génomique en France : la place des dispositifs instrumentaux

Abstract : The emergence of genomics in France is embedded in a public policy which tries to organise the coordination of a heterogeneous set of actors around innovation projects combining research and development in biotechnology. This model for regulating research and innovation first emerges in Evry, and is then extended nation-wide. The dissertation follows the history of this extension, and the dynamics through which the Evry experiment becomes a model for science policy in the life sciences. Instrumentation and infrastructure (genopoles, platforms) provide an entry point for analyzing how production and access to data and resources is managed in the space of genomics. Theoretical framework is provided by the sociology of scientific production, and public policy analysis of the construction of research-technology.
