ELEMENTS DE CARACTERISATION DE LA MICROVASCULARISATION CEREBRALE PAR DIFFERENTES METHODES D'IMAGERIE.
Application à l'étude d'un modèle d'ischémie focale transitoire chez le rat.

Abstract : This work concerns the preclinical study of transient focal cerebral ischemia through the characterisation of the cerebral microvasculature with several investigation tools. It describes the development of a reversible model of cerebral ischemia achieved by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery in the rat. An acute blood brain barrier breakdown during reperfusion was observed by extravasation of contrast agents after nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. The effect of several anaesthetics on the ischemic pathology evolution has been assessed by measuring cerebral blood flow with autoradiography and tissular damages on histological slices. Finally, near infrared spectroscopy was performed to spatially detect an ischemic focus in real time.
