Abstract : The connection between a photovoltaic array and a DC load is still an interest topic of research. The impedance matching between a PV array and a DC load is a technological problem that basically means the maximum power transfer from a PV panel to a DC load. Although there are many works devoted to the problem of the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in a PV array, only few of them deal with the nature of the power interface while most of them focus on different types of tracking algorithms. In this thesis, the problem is studied systematically from a power interface point of view in order to obtain high levels of efficiency, reliability and flexibility. For that, two different approaches have been considered, the dc transformer and the dc gyrator. The first concept corresponds to the classical model of the ideal behavior of a dc-dc switching converter in steady state. The second corresponds to the steady state behavior of a dc power gyrator. The synthesis and classification of power gyrators is presented in this thesis. A comparative analysis between a DC power transformer and a DC power gyrator on equal bases of operation is presented. An outdoor measurements system has been implemented and comparative experiments have been carried out during several hours for different switching structures.
