La scénarisation de l'évaluation des activités pédagogiques utilisant les Environnements Informatiques d'Apprentissage Humain

Abstract : Assessment is indissociable of learning activities led by teachers or performed by pupils. For a long time and in various disciplines (didactic, educational sciences, psychology, docimology), assessment is the topic of several works and reflexions which contribute to define it and to specify the nature of the supports activities which allow to implement it. Generally, assessment regulates learning activities and check pupils competences. But assessment also takes part in the pupils' selection and in their social integration with examinations and contests. The choice of the methods, the tools and the techniques depends mainly on the objectives assigned by the teaching.

Historically, Interactive Learning Environments (ILE) used within the school framework or lifelong learning framework always integrated varied means of assessing users based on traditional methods, tools and techniques of assessment. But their way of expressing pupils' results remains specific to each ILE, which can appear natural if one admits that a ILE generally relates to a particular discipline and is used most of the time only individually by the pupil or the teacher.

However, the appearance of Learning Management Systems (LMS) gives a new context .within assessments can be shared by other actors whom the teacher and the pupil. Assessment can also be used by other LMS services in particular school services. One of the important questions that the integration of ILE within LMS raises is that of their interoperability through the results which they produce. This question arises in all the more difficult terms as the integration of traditional ILE in the LMS is generally associated with the scenarization of their use, in particular by using the Educational Modelling Languages (EML). A benchmark of the proposals made recently by the principal teams working on these questions at the international level illustrates clearly these difficulties.

The research undertaken within the framework of this thesis aims at providing the definition of a results model which can be usable in the context of the LMS. Starting from an inventory and the study of typical assessments situations that are recognized by the various specialists, this model was designed by taking account of EML and proposing several improvements useful for the scenarization and the operationalization of assessment activities. The target language on which these properties were proposed and established is LDL (Learning Design Language). LDL is mainly used to model co-operative learning activities.

Lastly, an infrastructure has been proposed for the aggregation of the results and their filing in database supporting their re-use for a possible adaptation of the scenarios. Examples of really achievable assessments scenarios on a target LMS are used as demonstrators of this work.
