Couplage fort entre plasmons de surface et excitons de semiconducteur organique

Abstract : This work deals with the study of optical properties of material near metallic surface. We shown that the strong coupling regime can be achieved between surface plasmons, which propagate on the metallic surface, and excitons in organic semiconductors. This material are J-aggregated cyanine dyes. The strong coupling results in the creation of mixed states plasmons-excitons : the polaritons. Reflectomectry measurements, made on samples with a J-aggregates layer deposited onto a silver film, have shown an anticrossing in the dispersion relations of the plasmon and of the exciton. This is the signature of the strong coupling regime. The emission of this new polaritonic states has been studied with two different geometries : using a plane silver layer and using periodically structured silver layer in a cross-coupling geometry.
