ÉTUDE DES EFFETS DES ONDES MILLIMÉTRIQUES AU NIVEAU CELLULAIRE : CAS DES MEMBRANES BIOLOGIQUES ARTIFICIELLES ET DE L'EXPRESSION GÉNÉTIQUE

Abstract : Frequency band around 60GHz (57-64GHz) is recently determined as highly promising for the wireless short-range communication systems. Due to the absence of 60-GHz radiations from the natural spectrum, biological organisms have never been exposed to this radiation in the environmental conditions. The research work of this thesis deals with the analysis of the potential biological effects of the low-power millimeterwave radiation at the cellular level.
The investigations have been conducted in two main research directions. Firstly, we considered the influence of the millimeter-wave radiation at 60GHz on the structure and biophysical properties of artificial models of biomembranes. Secondly, we studied the influence of the 60-GHz radiation on the modifications of gene expression of chaperon proteins in human brain cells.
