Élasticité et ancrage dans des cristaux de Wigner macroscopiques : un système modèle pour l'étude du piégeage faible

Abstract : This thesis deals with the use of a two-dimensional cristal of interacting macroscopic particles to study the problem of the pinning of elastic lattices. Thanks to the given possibility to submit this system to controlled effective temperature and pinning potential, it can be seen as an experimental model system giving the opportunity to track directly the particles.

In a first part, we have calibrated the properties of the system (interparticles interaction, effective temperature, elastic properties).

We have then studied its response when submitted to a periodic pinning potential. The transition to the pinned equilibrium configurations and the dynamics around theses configurations have been investigated. In particular, the possibilities to investigate the problem of elastic systems under a weak disorder have been discussed.

In order to better understand the whole dynamics of pinned lattices, we have also isolated and studied basic situations such as the dynamics of small confined systems or the single file diffusion in
modulated channels.
