Morphogenèse et auto-organisation : tiges, plaques, films et gouttes

Abstract : This manuscript is devoted to an investigation of various aspects of morphoge-
nesis in confined liquids and solids – instabilities, singularities and multi-scale phenomena – combining experiments, numerics and theoretical tools. First, we focus on the packing and buckling of rods and plates ; we relate buckling to differential growth in living systems. Then we consider liquid films on a solid substrate and more particularly the dynamics of a contact line. Eventually, we investigate two types of self-organisation : drops bouncing on a liquid and the elastocapillary coalescence of a set of rods.
