Composites à matrice polymère et nano-renforts flexibles : propriétés mécaniques et électriques.

Abstract : This work deals with the processing, the microstructural characterisation, and the macroscopic properties of high aspect ratio nanofibre filled polymer nanocomposites. By studying two types of fillers (carbon nanotubes and cellulose nanofibrils) with two different routes for composite processing, this study allows to understand the effect of nanofibre entanglements and of fibre-fibre interactions on the composite properties. Mechanical properties at small and large deformation, and, in the case of carbon nanotubes filled materials, electrical properties were investigated. A modelling approach based on fibre discretization in a representative volume, allowed to discuss the influence of fibre tortuosity and of fibre-fibre contact electrical properties on electrical percolation.
