Mélange à quatre ondes de polaritons dans des microcavités semi-conductrices

Abstract : This work is devoted to the study of non linear and quantum effects in semiconductor microcavities. The optical properties of these devices are described in terms of mixed exciton-photon modes, the cavity polaritons.
First we have performed some experiments in the polariton parametric oscillation regime, in the « magic angle » configuration.
Then we have we have shown a phenomenon of four wave mixing oscillation, under resonant excitation by two counterpropagating pump beams. The study of the polarization of the non linear emission allows to have access to the polariton spin dynamics. The measurement of the intensity noise of the emission demonstrates that the four wave mixing process generates two strongly correlated polariton populations.
Finally, we have performed a theoretical study of the four wave mixing, in order to precise the conditions which permit to observe quantum correlated polaritons.
