Etude numérique des phénomènes aéroélastiques en aérodynamique supersonique. Application aux tuyères propulsives

Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the study of aeroelastic phenomena in rocket nozzles. A part of this work has been performed within the frame of the french working group ATAC. One of its main aims is to highlight how hazardous these phenomena can be for the structure of the nozzle. Indeed, some structural eigenmodes may become statically or dynamically (flutter) instable because of the coupling between wall deformations and the induced pressure variations in the nozzle. Two models dedicated to aeroelastic stability of over-expanded nozzles are exposed in details. Moreover, a new code (based on a fluid/structure partitioned procedure) is developed so that such phenomena might be numerically investigated. This code is validated by simulating the well-known test of the supersonic panel flutter. The aeroelastic behaviour of a two-dimensional over-expanded nozzle is investigated thanks to the two stability models. Several parameters are shown to play a major role on the stability of the flexible divergent. Comparisons are made with numerical results. Finally, the stability models are applied to the flexible nozzle that ONERA studied experimentally. Lastly, investigations of the starting process of a supersonic nozzle are exposed.
