Plages en équilibre morphologique et hydrodynamique associée

Abstract : To our knowledge, we have presented the first set of experiments that lead to equilibrium profiles.
Among these profiles, 2 schematic morphologies are obtained: either a beach with a bar or a terrace shaped beach.
The Dean number, or nondimensional falling velocity, is the key parameter.
We have compared the morphological answer of beache profiles in our studies
with the classification of Wright and Short, 1984.
We carried out a finer classification
on the level of the type of the beach for the intermediate values
of Dean number.
In connection with the effects corresponding to the presence of the infragravity waves on the formation and stability of the bars, we noted that the conjunction of the breaking point and a node of the infra-gravity waves is favorable to the stability of the bar.
