rhéologie locale, écoulements inhomogènes et dynamiques spatio-temporelles

Abstract : This work is an experimental study of inhomogeneous flows in two peculiar systems:
a wormlike micelles solution and a concentrated emulsion.
To gain information about their local flow behaviour, we use two
velocimetry setups (one heterodyne dynamic light scattering setup an
ultrasound velocimetry setup developed during this PhD).
We unveil the existence of inhomogeneous flows in these systems
and describe the spatio-temporal evolution of the velocity field.
In the wormlike micelles solution, we point out
the existence of fast dynamics
as well as slow transients associated to the growth of the highly sheared band.
We also describe the local rheological behaviour of three concentrated emulsions
and demonstrate the influence of the interdroplets interactions on their flow behaviour.
