Mesure de champs à l'échelle micrométrique pour l'identification d'effets mécaniques surfaciques : vers une nouvelle instrumentation pour la biologie

Abstract : Because of their higher surface / volume ratio, the mechanical behavior of micro-electro-mechanical systems is governed by surface effects instead of volume ones. That is why micrometric objects are well suited to develop environmental or biological sensors. The analysis of the governing phenomena require to overcome three main barriers :
To measure nanometric displacement fields at the micrometer scale ;
To identify heterogeneous surface loading fields and heterogeneous mechanical properties fields, and to assess a model quality ;
To model strong surface couplings.
Moving on these three axes, this study exhibit the role of the experimental parameters governing the behavior of micro-mechanical DNA chips.
