Verres et vitrocéramiques infrarouges à base de chalcogénures pour l'optique non linéaire du second ordre

Abstract : Second order non linear properties have been studied in amorphous chalcogenide compounds in order to develop new materials for optical device. Second harmonic generation has been shown in Ge-In-S-CsI and Ge-(Ga,Sb)-S glass systems after a thermal poling treatment. Breakdown of the isotropy, leading to a high second order non linear susceptibility up to 8 pm/V, has been evidenced by using Maker fringes experiment.
As the same time, new infrared materials have been developed. Infrared transparent glass-ceramics have been synthesized. They present a permanent second order non linearity, induced by the presence of non centrosymmetric particles randomly dispersed in the glass media.
