Etude des effets de la masse et de l'isospin dans le processus de la multifragmentation

Abstract : Isotopic effects in the multifragmentation of spectator decays were studied in experiments with beams from SIS at GSI with the ALADiN spectrometer. Reactions at relativistic energies were employed, primary stable beams of 197Au and 124Sn and secondary radioactive beams 124La and 107Sn were used to cover a wide range of mass and isotopic composition. The measurement of the momentum vector and of the charge of all projectile fragments with Z>1 entering the acceptance of the ALADiN magnet has been performed with high efficiency and resolution using the upgraded ALADiN spectrometer, operated in conjunction with LAND for simultaneous neutron detection. The study of the gross properties has shown a dependence on the isotopic composition of the projectile in agreement with the predictions of the Statistical Multifragmentation Model. The odd-even effect in the multifragmentation has been investigated to find an interpretation for its manifestation at high excitation energies. Qualitative agreement has been obtained between the measured temperatures, the old ALADiN data and the theoretical
predictions.
