Contribution à l'étude de la structure des flammes turbulentes de prémélanges pauvres de méthane-air

Abstract : Premixed turbulent flames offer basic and practical interests. This thesis aims to improve our knowledge on turbulent lean premixed flames. Flame structure changes are generated by modifying the equivalence ratio and the turbulent parameters.
A macroscopic description of the flames is performed with 2D Mie scattering by determining iso-c contours, turbulent flame brush thickness, characteristic wrinkling scale, and flame surface density.
The instantaneous flame front structure is also studied. A statistical study of the flame front curvature is performed. The correlation between the flame front thickness (reaction and preheat zones) obtained from 2D Rayleigh scattering, and flame curvature is investigated.
The present data are compared to premixed turbulent combustion models: BML and models using the scalar dissipation. Crossing length distributions and combustion rate are studied. The present results are compared to those obtained by other measurement techniques in the literature.
