La "mer côtière" d'Iroise à Finisterre. Etude géographique d'ensembles territoriaux en construction

Abstract : Interface marine space distinguished on a small scale by edge effects apparent under the cross-angles of nature and society, the coastal sea is a great geographical object under construction which recently penetrates the coastal and marine problematic because of the growing pressures exerting on it. The territorial genesis occurring at the interface land/sea involves considering structural and dynamic disparities and, therefore, highlighting the coast as a sum of complex territorial sets driven on dynamic and singular expression forms, enhancing and supporting projects and various representations. A theoretical tool, sets up from different concepts and methodical approaches, allows building up an approach which brings up contours and coastal sea processes. This tool is tested and implemented at two complemented scale: first within a large Franco-Spanish spatial system with numerous comparative elements, then, by means of three workshops-areas established from configuration model intermixing « full » and « empty » and highlighting a three-way ideographical pattern. Thus, this method put forward a range of territorial construction processes implemented in coastal seas, supporting a lecturer frame of the relationships: between nature and society, between endogenous and exogenous factors at the interface land/sea. Such as pioneer fringes, coastal sea territorial sets construction appears as a favoured territorial dynamics study laboratory.
