Plateforme de prototypage virtuel pour la simulation numérique en grandes transformations thermomécaniques rapides

Abstract : This work concerns the development of a virtual prototyping platform dedicated to the simulation of problems in large thermomechanical transformations. In such a situation, the material is subjected to large deformations, high strain rates and a high amont of temperature mainly resulting from plastic deformation. This category of sollicitations, which might be very dynamic and highly non-linear, is usually encountered in machining or impact and crash numerical simulations. Two main research ways are explored in this work: the first one concerns the experimental aspect while the second one focusses on the development of the FEM dynamic code called DynELA. Concerning the experimental approach, the main objective is to develop a set of tools (experimental set and usefull related softwares) in order to identify the constitutive parameters of various materials subjected to high strain and high strain rates. Concerning the numerical aspect, the objective is to develop an explicit large deformation FEM code using an Object-Oriented Programming aproach in C++. This work has been achieved in the Laboratoire Génie de Production (LGP) of the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ENIT).
