Synthèse de polymères en étoile par amorçage pluricarbanionique

Abstract : The aim of this work is the synthesis of star polymers by using the so-called « core-first » technique. The halogen-lithium exchange reaction were carried out in order to get di-, tri- and tetracarbanionic initiators. The first part concerns the study of a dibromocompound and demonstrates the efficiency of the resulting dilithiumcompound as initiator of anionic polymerization of styrene. The conditions obtained were extended to the tri- and tetrabromocompounds in the second part. They managed to the successful synthesis of four-arm stars polystyrene. The trilithium coumpound were found to be not efficient. The molecular and viscosity data of the star polymers gave evidence of the tetrafunctional character of our structure.
