INFLUENCE DE LA PRESSION SUR LA DYNAMIQUE DU LYSOZYME

Abstract : The influence of a non-denaturating hydrostatic pressure (3kbar) on the internal motions of lysozyme is studied by two conjugated approaches : molecular dynamics and quasielastic neutron scattering which cover the same time and space scales. Simulations show a compaction of lysozyme with pressure and a decrease of atomic fluctuations, mainly for low frequencies. A slight decrease is observed on the quasielastic, part of the scattering function, that does not clearly appear from experiments. Simulations reproduce correctly the experimental profile and the fractional Brownian model is relevant to account for the multiple relaxation times that characterize the internal dynamics of a protein.
