Modélisation de Films Minces

Abstract : This doctoral dissertation is devoted to the modeling of curved thin films made of martensitic, hyperelastic and ferromagnetic materials. The thickness of the films along the normal direction to their midsurface is very small compared with the other dimensions of the films. In the case of hyperelastic films, we consider films that are bounded to a substrate while allowing for debonding. The formulation of the problem prevents film/substrate intepenetration. The equilibrium states of the films are described by energy minimization problems, with energies depending on the film deformation or magnetization in the case of ferromagnetic films. We study the behavior of these energies and their possible minimizers when the thickness of the film tends to zero using the $\Gamma$-convergence arguments and formal asymptotic expansion. We obtain two-dimensional models in which the limiting energy is written on a curved surface of $\mathbb (R)^3$.
