Mécanismes de déformation post-rifting des marges passives. Exemple des marges péri-atlantiques et modélisation

Abstract : Many passive margins, and notably Atlantic margins, show evidence of post-rift deformation characterized by uplift and horizontal shortening, that provoke geometry changes in sedimentary systems. Different mechanisms have been proposed in literature to explain these deformations. Analogue and numerical modelling were performed to test some of them: ridge-push, regional tectonics, hot-spot, and lithosphere rheology impact. It results from the observations in nature and from our models, that recent deformation of passive margins is linked to different associations of mechanisms. Some of them could however favour the post-rift deformations, like the horizontal shortening from ridge-push or regional tectonics, and the occurrence of hot-spot during or after the margin formation.
