Systèmes MIMO à porteuses multiples : étude et optimisation de la combinaison de codes temps-espace et des techniques MC-CDMA

Abstract : The 4th Generation mmobile radio systems require the research of new modulation schemes to reply to increasing needs in temrs of data rates and mobility. The MC-CDMA scheme has recently emerged as one of the most promisinng candidates for future networks physical layer. This modulation combines orthogonal frequency division multiplex modulation (OFDM) with spread spectrum technique which allows the code division multiple access. On the other hand, MIMO systems inherit space diversity to mitigate fading effects and improve dramatically the spectrum efficiency. This thesis deals with the optimisation of MIMO/MC-CDMA systems through the use of space-time block coding (STBC) or trellis coding (STTC).

We propose new orthogonal STBC and a new representation of STTC based on a polynomial notation. The studied STBC/MC-CDMA systems improve the performance of a MC-CDMA SISO system with a low complex decoding. Their optimisation is based on single-user and multiple-user detection schemes. Their performance are evaluated on theoritical and realistic channels. Finally, the STTC/MC-CDMA combination is studied.
