Emissions de N2O par nitrification et dénitrification à l'échelle de la motte de sol: effet de la structure du sol, de l'aération et des activités microbiennes

Abstract : The objective of this work was to characterize the N2O emissions by denitrification and nitrification in a silt soil on the scale clod. Denitrification was studied by the measurements made on soil clods and the simulation of the reducing microbial populations of NO3- and N2O. The reducing capacity of N2O is inductible, so that the net production of N2O strongly decreases during the time. The respiration and the N2O emission by denitrification soil clods were strongly stimulated by an anaerobic pre-incubation. These results can be explained using a simplified model accounting the structure of the clods. The nitrification rate and its contribution to the N2O production were characterized on soil aggregates according to the partial O2 pressure using the 15N tracing. A reduction of O2 pressure decreases the nitrification rate and strongly increases the N2O production by nitrification
