Amplification paramétrique et réduction du bruit quantique dans des microcavités semiconductrices

Abstract : We present some results of quantum optics on coherent effects in semiconductor microcavities, made of quantum wells inserted in a Fabry-Pérot cavity. Excitons and photons confinement's allows to reach the strong coupling regime. The new eigenmodes are called polaritons.
Under resonant excitation, one has parametric amplification of polaritons, in which two polaritons pumped scater to two others modes, called signal and idler. In the non-degenerate configuration, we can have bistability, under conditions similar to the ones in the optical parametric oscillators. In the degenerate configuration, the phase coherent four wave mixing is Kerr type. As for the cloud of cold atoms, we observe bistability and squeezing in the vicinity of the turning point under the standard quantum limit. In the strong coupling regime, the squeezed field is a mixed light-matter one. We take into account of transverses effects of polaritons and we have caracterised their properties of spatial coherence.
