L'expérience MUSE-4 : Mesure des paramètres cinétiques d'un système sous-critique

Abstract : Accelerator Driven System (ADS) which are based on an external neutron source coupled to a subcritical core, offer advantages for the incineration of radioactive waste. In order to understand the neutronic specificity of such a system, during the MUSE IV experimental program, the experimental reactor MASURCA (CEA Cadarache) has been coupled to the neutrons source GENEPI which has been developed at the LPSC Grenoble. This setup has enabled the development of an on-line measurement technique of the effective multiplication factor. This measurement benefits of the characteristics of the reactor response depending on the multiplication factor at the prompt fission an delayed fission time scales. The analysis of those experiments shows that the proposed method give results in agreement with the one deduced using classical reactivity measurement techniques which can not however be used in a power ADS.
