De la navigation exploratoire virtuelle à la planification d'interventions endovasculaires

Abstract : Within the general scope of computer-assisted interventions, our work, essentially expressed in terms of virtual imaging, was focused on the pre-operative step (analysis, modeling, simulation) with the aim of realistic planning of minimally invasive treatment of vascular lesions (percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, aortic endograft placement, intravascular brachytherapy). New functionalities (local analysis, geometrical description) associated with the virtual sensor are proposed. At the close of this analytical virtual exploration of patient data (CT imaging), the surface description of complex stuctures as well as the determination of parameters characterizing the vascular structures are considered from interventional planning point of view and evaluated by considering animal model and patient data. A first specific patient approach for simulation of tool / tissue interaction in balloon angioplasty procedure is finally proposed.
