# Simulation et détection du rayonnement cosmique : Production d'antimatière dans l'atmosphère et étude de l'imageur Cherenkov annulaire de l'expérience AMS

Abstract : This thesis aims at the study of charged nuclear cosmic rays with energy beteween several hundred MeV and 1~TeV, which can bring answers to fundamental questions such as primordial matter/antimatter asymetry, dark matter or cosmic ray propagation in the galaxy. These phenomena must or can be studied through light antimatter nuclei detection. But the interaction of the primary cosmic rays with the terrestrial vicinity leads to the production and magnetic trapping of secondary paticules, including light antimatter nuclei. This work aims at the precise characterisation of this physical background for baloon borne or stellite experiment. This was undertaken thanks to a three dimensionnal Monte Carlo simulation taking into account realistic nuclear interactions. In particular this study shows the importance of the magnetic trapping and inelastic non-annihilating interaction for particle present at a 400~km altitude. The second party is dedicated to the study of the Ring Imaging CHerenkov detector of the AMS experiment. Thanks to a precise velocity measurement, it will enable isotopic separation of the charged nuclear cosmic rays. The resolution of the detector has been studied on cosmic and beam test. This study shows that the detector is understood and that its performances fill expectations. In particular a simulation work taking into account the trigger and efficiency of the AMS detector has been undertaken on the $^(10)$Be/$^(9)$Be isotopic ratio which shows the AMS capacity to constrain astrophysical cosmic ray propagation parameters.
