Caractérisation du mécanisme de la réaction d'échange P2-Na0.70CoO2->O2-LiCoO2 et du système métastable T#2-Li2/3Co2/3Mn1/3O2 comme matériau d'électrode positive dans les batteries au lithium

Abstract : Materials with non usual structures have been synthesized by soft chemistry as positive electrode materials for Li-ion batteries, this synthesis route consists in ionic exchange of sodium by lithium in NaxMO2 (x = 2/3; M = Co, Co/Mn) layered compounds. A model based on a nucleation-growth process inside the starting material was proposed to describe the ionic exchange reaction mechanism. The comparison between X-ray diffraction pattern calculated for different simulated layered structures modelized from the proposed reaction mechanism and the study of the ionic exchange by in-situ X-ray diffraction have allowed, in the case of O2-LiCoO2, to determine the parameters controlling the reaction. T#2-Li2/3Co2/3Mn1/3O2 manganese substituted material, has been then synthesized and characterized by neutron diffraction and electron diffraction. The thermal stability of this material was studied and has but by a different structure. The electrochemical properties of those materials and the structural modifications observed during the electrochemical cycling were characterized.
