Perception et simulation des effets du changement climatique sur l'économie du ski et la biodiversité

Abstract : In the Alpine valleys antagonism frequently occurs between interests of the ski economy and objectives for biodiversity preservation ecologist over land use. This situation is actually being amplified by the climatic changes. The objective of this work is to develop methodology approach and appropriate tools which can assist decision making by means of visual heuristics. Our starting point is the visualisation of probable areas of conflict interests in the confines of Savoie and Haute Savoie. This thesis is composed of three parts. Firstly we define the general context of climatic change from a global point of view; from there we descend to a local level in order to identify the mechanisms which create such conflicts of interest. Secondly we describe the development of a methodology which can help the opposing parties to arrive at a concerted agreement. The specific tools which we created permit visual heuristics by interactive simulation. We demonstrate how a data base should be designed in order to implement our concept, which computer programs should be used and how they should be fitted together in order to construct interactive environmental simulation. A strategy is proposed which is destined to ameliorate the interpretation of spatial data when their spatial distribution is weak. In conclusion we apply the tools we developed to a specific case study in Savoie and Haute Savoie.
