Conception d'une caméra bolométrique pour la radioastronomie millimétrique à grand champ.

Abstract : The subject of this work is the conception of a low noise bolometric camera containing around a thousand detectors. Such a design is proposed for the next generation of instruments for use in astronomy in the millimetre wavelength range. The camera will aid the study of cosmology and galactic physics. The specifications of the optical system and the detectors are defined to match the 30 m IRAM radiotelescope. We investigate microfabrication processes for the realisation of bolometer arrays. An important part of the work is devoted to the electrical characterisation of NbSi thin film thermometers at very low temperatures (0.1 K). Finally, we studied the problems of signal multiplexing, which enables the measurement of a great number of detectors while avoiding the disadvantages linked to the cabling. We propose proximate electronics operating at very low temperatures.
