Application de la théorie des bancs de filtres à l'analyse et à la conception de modulations multiporteuses orthogonales et biorthogonales

Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to determine new multicarrier modulations being more general and using some prototype filters being better adapted to certain transmission channels. The oversampled BFDM/QAM and BFDM/OQAM techniques which use orthogonal or non orthogonal modulation filters are studied with a discrete-time approach which takes into account their material realization. This study is partly based on the analogy which exists between Weyl-Heisenberg systems and multicarrier modulations, and partly on the analogy between filter banks and multicarrier modulations. A formulation using Weyl-Heisenberg and a realization as a transmultiplexer are provided for both types of modulations. More efficient realization schemes based on Fourier transforms and polyphase filtering are also given. In both cases, we also establish some perfect reconstruction conditions according to the polyphase components of the prototype filters. Optimization techniques providing biorthogonal or orthogonal filters are also described, and the optimized filters are evaluated un the context of different types of transmission channels.
