Fonctionnement et qualité des sols soumis à des perturbations physiques et chimiques d'origines anthropiques: réponses du sol, de la flore et de la microflore bactérienne tellurique

Abstract : The effects of two hard and punctual anthropogenic disturbances (physical and chemical disturbance) were studied on physico-chemical and biological grassland soil properties. The first one occurred in European Alps with the development of ski run construction responsible for subalpine grassland ecosystem degradation. The increasing use of incineration wastes for civil works necessitates the definition of relevant indicators of environmental compatibility. Diffusion of sodium-contaminated leachates onto soils may cause soil structural changes, with consequences on soil biological quality. In this study, the effect of incineration waste leachates from municipal solid waste incineration ashes (bottom ash and solidified air pollution control residue), on grassland soil's physico-chemical and biological properties was investigated. This work identified the influence of ecosystem organisation on the bacterial activities and communities structure responses to the disturbances. Changes within genetic fingerprint (A-RISA and nifH restriction profiles) confirm a great implication of soil structure and roots colonisation, on ecological strategy of global eubacterial and N2-fixer communities. The environmental disorders induced by both disturbances have incited the growth of bacterial communities with similar adaptive strategy, but with different genetic fingerprint. Changes in microbial activities (respiration, N2 fixation, denitrification) evidenced disturbances of physiological functioning, enzymatic activities or functional microbial communities composition. Our works develop and suggest to use an integrative process with various observation scales and several indicators, to approach the soil quality and to assess his disturbance on terrestrial ecosystem functioning.
