Etude structurale et thermodynamique d'hydrates modèle du ciment

Abstract : The C-S-H phase obtained by cement dissolution/precipitation process is responsible for the cement mechanical properties ; her structure is thought to be similar to Tobermorite (natural mineral). The topic is to study cement cohesion by prospecting lamellar tobermoritic sheets. The lamellar structure of synthesised tobermoritic C-S-H is highlighted : samples with Ca/Si ratio 0.9 are well crystallised. The dehydration/rehydration process study identified the existence of 3 tobermorite phases and thermal behaviour similarities with a "real" cement. We demonstrate the irreversibility of 14-11 Å transition. The study is oriented to understand the cohesion interlayer water role in relation with the two possible 11 Å natural tobermorite structures: Hamid's structure (independents layers) and Merlino's structure (bounded layers). The confrontation between experimental (29Si-RMN and infra-red spectroscopy) and numerical results (ab-initio and free energy minimisation) indicate the Hamid's structure as an acceptable model of Tobermoritic C-S-H.
