La surrection du massif cristallin externe de l'Argentera (France-Italie) et ses relations avec la déformation pliocène de la marge Nord-Ligure : Arguments thermochronologiques (traces de fission), géomorphologiques et interprétations de sismique marine

Abstract : Fission tracks (on apatites and zircons) thermochronological analysis, geomorphological and seismic profile studies are used to understand the evolution, the geometry and the mecanism of recent deformations within european crust (<10 Ma) from the Argentera external cristalline massif to the north-Ligurian margin.
First, the denudation of the massif is recorded at about 22 Ma, probably linked with the “arc de Castellane” structuration during middle and upper Miocene and then localy at about 6 Ma with denudation along the « Camp des Fourches » fault. An uplift more generalized of 0.8 mm/yr (30°C/km) is recorded at 3.5 Ma and followed by a late reversal motion of 1 mm/a along the Bersezio/Veillos fault. In spite of a large glacial erosion of the massif, the geomorphological analysis confirms these last results. Using a surface processes model, the erosional rate associated is localy of 1 mm/a and seems now higher on the eastern watershed of the massif.
From the analysis of 70 seismic-reflection profiles, the north-Ligurian margin deformation could be linked to a blind thrust propagation up to the messinian salt formation in the basin.
This recent alpin foreland compressif deformation is guided by a basement tectonic along inherited structures and followed the UHP rocks exhumation from the internal zones.
