Caractérisation multi-axiale du comportement et de la micro-structure d'un semi-cristallin : Application au cas du P.E.T

Abstract : The mechanical properties of the polymer products are still hardly predicted, because of the strong influence of the complex thermomechanical sollicitations experienced during forming processes, on their microstructure. We focused in this study on the representative case of Poly (Ethylene Terephthalate) or PET, and its forming during blow-molding process. The purposes of this study are to better characterize those links, especialy in the case of bi-axial strains and thick specimens, which is rarely seen, and to validate reliable constitutive models, from a microstructural or bi-axial point of view. We developped in this study a specific biaxial testing set-up and achieved several elongation tests, both equibiaxial and sequential, at different drawing speeds, draw ratios and temperatures above and close to Tg. The strain field was determined using a home-developed image correlation technique. Finally, we use these mechanical and microstructural datas to test classical modelizations.
