Réexécution déterministe pour un modèle procédural parallèle basé sur les processus légers

Abstract : This thesis defines an execution model for parallel programs based on remote procedure calls computed by lightweight processes. The equivalence of two executions in the parallel procedural model serves as guidelines for the construction of an Instant Replay mechanism for the executive kernel Athapascan-0a. The studied model is not specific for Athapascan and can be applied to other programming environments. The concerned models use active shared resources. In this family of models are to be found, among others, the remote procedure calls models, Client-Server models and the active object models. The model exploits abstract events compound of lower level events. The number of recorded events is thus reduced without overhead for computing this reduction. The Instant Replay mechanism implemented for Athapascan-0a has been experimentally validated. A systematic measurement methodology is applied to measure the execution time overhead due to the recording of traces needed for replay. The execution time measurements are done for synthetic parallel programs generated from algorithm models. Measured overheads show a low intrusiveness of the trace recording mechanism.
