Etayage et explication dans le préceptorat distant, le cas de TéléCabri

Abstract : The research in mathematics education we present here, deals with the teacher's interventions in the student's mathematical activity. The theoretical frame is given by the theory of didactical situations. To begin with, we propose a theoretical elaboration allowing the modelization of certain teacher's interventions. On one hand, we used the concept of scaffolding to characterize the teacher's interventions in the student-milieu relationship which preserve the meaning of the student's activity. We show how scaffolding is a part of a negotiation about the mathematical meaning of the student-milieu interaction, negotiation which can lead to the Topaze effect. On the other hand, we characterize the teacher's action on the student's understanding by an explanation process co-constructed during the interaction between teacher and student. Then, we propose to analyze those two processes in an original teacher-student interaction: the tutorship, i.e. the didactical interaction occurring between a teacher and a single student. We sat up an experimental procedure to observe tutoring interactions and to use our tools of analysis. Our experiments were realized in the context of the TeleCabri project. The TeleCabri project targets to the study of the uses and the specification of a computer distance-teaching environment, embedding telepresence and sharing of the learning space, notably the microworld Cabri Geometry. The didactical analysis of the tutoring interactions requires the study of the specific role of Cabri Geometry which is a part of the learning milieu. The results of the work concern: the teacher's usual practice appearing in the tutoring interactions, especially their management of the Cabri Geometry working place, the scaffolding and the Topaze effect and the didactical characterization of the explanation process.
