Effets thermiques dus à l'interaction laser-matière dans les métaux en régime femtoseconde

Abstract : The topic of this work is the study of the thermal effects due to laser-matter interaction in the case of metals in the femtosecond regime. Two approaches are developed. The first one uses a two dimensional numerical treatment of the Two Temperature Model (TTM). A definition of the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ), based on physical metallurgy arguments, is given. The spread of the HAZ is calculated in the direction perpendicular to the laser beam. The second approach is an experimental one. It uses transmission and scanning electronic microscopy techniques to measure the evolution of the microstructure in the vicinity of the irradiated area. The femtosecond and nanosecond regimes are compared for the main results of this work.
