Escarpement de faille synsédimentaire. Perturbation des écoulements gravitaires sous-marins et détermination de la cinématique des failles

Abstract : Growth fauIt movement Ganinduce fauIt scarp creation during the sedimentation whose importance is analyzed according to two aspects: (1) Impact on subaqueous sedimentary density flows (Annot Sandstone formation). Decimetre-to-metric height fault scarp can strongly perturb subaqueous flows (a) by located erosions, transit, and turbiditic levees deposit on the escarpment, (b) by the transformation trom hypeconcentrated density flow to turbiditic flow with localization of specific facies at each scarp position (c) by debris-flow canalization along the fault. (2) Determination ofgrowthfault kinematics with seismic data. FauIt scarps integration gives the possibility (a) of a better understanding of the respective influence between sediment supply variation and fault displacement variation on the growth strata thickness variation and (b) mates it possible to determine main deposits lithology directly starting trom seismic data.
