Photomagnétisme de matériaux à transition de spin

Abstract : This work presents a photomagnetic study of iron(II) spin-crossover compounds depending on the complexes nuclearity and the intermolecular elastic interaction (cooperativity). A careful examination of mononuclear species has allowed to discuss the concepts of cooperativity and light-induced state stability. Various experimental and theoretical studies on the T(LIESST) and the light-induced bistability (LITH) have been conducted and non-linear effects of photo-excitation and relaxation have been underlined. The study of binuclear systems exhibiting intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling has led to original photomagnetic behaviours. Finally, various strategies to synthesize trinuclear building blocks have been advanced and the first photomagnetic characterisation are cheering.
