Approche des systèmes distribués par automates cellulaires. Application en mécanique des milieux déformables

Abstract : Modelling a distributed parameter system is usually made by means of partial differential equations. Since the beginning of the 90's, cellular automata models represent a good candidate to describe spatio-temporal systems mainly for modellers who are not familiar with PDE's jargon. In this work, we show that cellular automata can be used to describe systems in the domain of solid deformation, such as deformation of elastic, thermoelastic and frictionless contact problems. The proposed cellular automata models are issued from generic properties of the deformation phenomena. They take into account conservation laws properties of the considered systems. Various applications and illustrative simulations have been developed with Matlab.
