Etude des amplificateurs et lasers 1 µm de forte puissance à base de fibre double gaine dopée Ytterbium

Abstract : This work deals with the study and the development of high-power Ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber lasers and amplifiers. The first chapter concerns the passive characterization of the fiber. We give the spectroscopic of Ytterbium ion in silicate host. Then, we present the experimental set-up and results from characterization. We present double-clad specific parameters like mode mixing. Lastly, we do a comparative study of the mains coupling technologies of the pump in the fiber. The second chapter concerns amplifiers. We develop a numerical model which achieves to characterize and optimize the amplifier with continuous pumping and continuous signal. Then we check the agreement between the model and the experimental results. We study the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic fiber parameters. We point out the Brillouin effects. At last, we give the parameters which achieves to optimize the amplifier in single stage and double stage configuration. The third chapter concerns lasers. First, we extend the model to the laser with homogeneous gain medium. Then we check the validity of the model in the case of a 1 W Fabry-Pérot laser. We present the multimode 1083 nm fiber laser for helium pumping. We study the effect of different parameters on the spectral envelop, and compare the results with the model. We analyze the dynamic of the laser. We give theoretical and experimental results on ring laser, and finish with a laser for pumping of a Raman resonator.
