Etude des phénomènes électromagnétiques dans les condensateurs à films métallisés - nouvelle génération de condensateurs

Abstract : In this work, we study the physical phenomena in metallized capacitors. In particular, the macroscopics properties of the windings (admittance, impedance) are obtained and enable us to study the distribution of fields and currents in capacitors for a large frequency range. It appears that the currents, while homogeneous at low frequency, concentrate in some areas for higher frequencies, which can lead to heatings and failures.
On the other hand, the effects of geometrical parameters on capacitor characteristics are underlined, especially at high frequency. Thus, it comes out that the equivalent series inductance of capacitors can be considerably reduced when using flat and annular windings. The efficiency of decoupling capacitors can also be improved thanks to appropriate connexions and the use of symmetrical conductors reduces heatings.
