Simulation de gerbes atmosphériques et définition de l'acquisition des stations locales pour l'expérience Auger

Abstract : The highest energy cosmic rays (>10^19 eV)are hardly explained by common astrophysics. In order to improve the available statistics, the Pierre Auger Observatory (PAO) has been designed with an area of 3000 km² in each hemisphere, in Argentina and in Utah. The set of primary parameters, such as energy, arrival direction and chemical composition will be accurately measured by both fluorescence and surface detectors, through lateral and longitudinal developments of extensive air showers. Beside an overview of cosmic ray and air shower physics, the work presented here deals with the two main concerns of an upcoming experiment, namely simulation and design. The former is focused on extensive air shower simulations and their application to the primary charge and mass estimations, while the latter deals with local data acquisition inside PAO's surface detectors.
