Spectroscopie de l'atome d'hydrogène. Vers une mesure absolue de la fréquence de la transition 1S-3S.

Abstract : The subject of this thesis is the 1S-3S two-photons transition frequency measurement in hydrogen. For that one needs a 205 nm radiation obtained from a titane-sapphire laser by two frequency doubling steps.
The chapter 1 of this thesis deals with the scectroscopy of the hydrogen atom since the last twenty years. In the chapters 3 and 4 the experimental set-up is described in details. One can see in these parts that one of the important point of the work was devoted to the rise-up of the signal to noise ratio of the atomic signal.
The second part of the thesis is the description and the realization of an original method to measure the second order Doppler shift for this experiment. Firstly, there is a theoretical description of the different effects which appear by the application of a magnetic field. Secondly, the realization and the measurement are described.
Finally, the last chapter deals with the possible improvements which are necessary to lead to a measurement of the absolute frequency with an uncertainty better than 1 kHz.
