Étude des systèmes critiques bidimensionnels possédant des symetries discrètes : les th\éories conformes parafermioniques, et leurs applications.

Abstract : In this thesis we present a study of critical systems in two dimensions enjoying a discrete symmetry. Conformal field theory plays a central role in the understanding of critical phenomena in two dimensions, and additional discrete symmetries are described by parafermionic conformal field theories. In the first part of this thesis we study the effect of slighlty relevant perturbations on these parafermionic theories. The renormalization group equations and their infra-red fixed points are obtained, and massless flows between these parafermionic theories are found. In a second part, we study the applications of these theories to the fractionnal quantum Hall effect. We show, by computing the corresponding correlation functions, that unitary parafermionic theories are good candidates to describe non-abelian states of matter. In the last part we prove the conjecture relating Jack wavefunctions to W conformal field theories.
